Abstract

An s-triazine derivative represented by general formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, and a remedy for estrogen-dependent diseases containing the derivative as the active ingredient, wherein: (1) R1 and R3 represent each lower alkyl, and R2 and R4 represent each lower alkyl or phenyl which may be substituted by halogen, nitro or amino; or (2) both of R1 and R2 and/or both of R3 and R4 are combined together to form a cyclic amino group together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded. This compound has an aromatase inhibitory effect, i.e., the effect of inhibiting in vivo enzymatic conversion of androgens into estrogens, thus being useful for treating estrogen-dependent diseases such as endometriosis, polycystic ovary, benign mastosis, endometrial carcinoma and mastocarcinoma.
