Abstract
ABSTRACT: Corporate bank managers' adaptability to fintech disruption is critical for business sustainability. Analyzing data from 84 strategic business units in Nigerian banks, this study examines how incumbents respond to disruption, hypothesizing that an entrepreneurial mindset positively influences survival strategies. Results show a high coefficient of determination, indicating strong predictive accuracy for managerial responses. This suggests banks can effectively manage fintech-driven competition while sustaining internal innovation without restructuring. Policymakers should encourage adaptive strategies that integrate fintech innovations while maintaining structural stability. Regulatory frameworks must support incumbents in leveraging traditional business models to counter fintech competition without stifling innovation. Promoting collaboration between banks and fintech firms is essential for fostering a balanced and competitive financial ecosystem.
