Abstract

This Editorial outlines the vision for the journal Infant and Child Development. Building on its historic strengths, the journal will feature the following four advances: 1) A strong stance on open science, including Registered Reports, Exploratory Reports, and Verification Reports; 2) An expanded focus on all aspects of psychological development from prenatal through emerging adulthood; 3) Inclusivity with respect to samples, researchers, and methods; and 4) An attempt to be as author-friendly as possible, minimizing as many barriers associated with submission and review as possible.
