Serum Soluble Cell Adhesion COX-1 in Endometriosis

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the changes of serum soluble cell adhesion COX-1 in endometriosis(EMs) and their clinical significance.Methods The COX-1 and CA125 levels in serum of 68 endometriotic patients(10 womenwithstage Ⅰ and Ⅱ,58 womenstage Ⅲ and Ⅳ)and 56 control patients were determined by ELISA,and the serum changes were measured by ELISA before and after conservative laparoscopic surgery in patients with EMs.Results The serums COX-1 levels in EMs were higher than those in control women(P0.05).And serums COX-1 levels in stage Ⅲ or Ⅳ of EMs were higher or significantly higher than those in control group(P0.05 or P0.01).Signific antparallel relationship existed between the stage of EMs and the serums COX-1 levels in EMs patients(rvalue:0.594,P0.01).After clearance of endometriosisfoci with laparoscopic conservative surgery,the serums COX-1 levels decreased significantly (P0.01).Conclusion The COX-1 may play animportantrole in the pathogenesis and progression of EMs.Serum COX-1 may be regarded as asignificant diagnostic or the rapeutic indexin EMs.
