Value of Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy in Diagnosis and Treatment of Infertility Caused by Genital Tuberculosis

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the superiority of hysteroscopy and laparoscopy in diagnosis and treatment of infertility caused by genital tuberculosis.Methods: The clinical data of 53 patients with infertility caused by genital tuberculosis that diagnosed and treated by hysteroscopy and laparoscopy from January 2008 to January 2011 were analyzed retrospectively.Results: Observed under laparoscope,there were miliary nodes scattered on the surface of tubal,ovary,uterus,intestine and peritoneum,with different degrees of pelvic adhesions.Among all patients,50 cases were taken laparoscope biopsies,and 23 cases were confirmed by pathology,the positive rate of biopsy was 46%.The mild adhesion cases were treated by separation of the tubal under laparoscope,those with serious adhesion were treated by tubal ligation under laparoscope.Seven cases were found uterine lesions under hysteroscopy.All cases were taken endometrial biopsies,while only 4 cases were pathologic diagnosed of endometrial tuberculosis.All 53 patients received anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy post-operation.Conclusions: There is few special symptom and helpful examination in female genital tuberculosis in the early stage.Our laparoscopic-hysteroscopic rendezvous procedures are helpful to the early diagnosis and treatment of the disease.The earlier the diagnosis and treatment,the better the clinical effects and the prognosis.
