Abstract

During the years 1967 -1969 ovulation inhibitors were given to 102 patients at sanatoria in Schoemberg. Administration of the contraceptives had no adverse effects on the healing process. Subjectively the patients felt well and the psychological effects produced by removal of the fear of pregnancy appeared to contribute to a more rapid cure. A few minor side effects beneficial to the healing process were reported namely weight gain and decrease in libido.(Authors modified)
