Zusammenfassung Es wird über 2 Fälle von rezidivierendem Pneumothorax berichtet, der sich stets unter der Menstruation ereignete. Im 1. Fall handelte es sich um eine 28jährige Frau, die im Laufe von 2 Jahren dreimal im Zusammenhang mit der Menstruation einen Pneumothorax erlitt. Nach erfolgloser Drainagebehand-ung wurde sie operiert. Dabei fand sich lediglich apikal eine kleine Emphysemblase, jedoch kein Anhalt für eine Endometriose. - Die 2. Patientin, eine 19jährige Frau, erkrankte eben-falls während des Zeitraumes von 2 Jahren dreimal an einem Pneumothorax, der durch Drainage oder rein konservative Maßnahmen beseitigt werden konnte. - Anhand der einschlä-gigen Literatur werden verschiedene Entstehungstheorien diskutiert, wobei der intrathorakalen Endometriose die größte Bedeutung als ätiologischem Faktor zugesprochen wird.
