PC-GO18 : Case report ; A-68-year old woman with cellular fibromas of both ovaries mimicking endometriomas

Granulosa-stromal cell tumors include granulosa cell tumors, thecomas, and fibromas. They account for 70% of ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors. Fibroma is defined as benign fibroblastic tumor of the ovary that can be hypo or hypercellular. Fibromas are stromal tumors composed of spindled, oval or round cells that produce variable amounts of collagen. Cellular fibromas are subset with high cellularity resembling granulosa cell tumors. But cellular fibromas are not common. Cellular fibromas with ≥ 4 mitoses per 10 HPF are now termed “mitotically active cellular fibromas” and should be distinguished from fibrosarcoma. We report a 68-year-old patient with both ovary cysts who have no symptoms like abdominal pain or discomfort, vaginal bleeding. Through transvaginal ultrasound, both ovary cysts considered more likely endomtrioma. In this case, she underwent laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Histopathology showed cellular fibroma of both ovaries.
