Abstract
Objective To explore the effectiveness of danazol-loaded intrauterine device in treating experimentally induced uterine adenomyosis in the ICR mice. Methods ICR mice model of uterine adenomyosis was induced by pituitary grafting to investigate the effectiveness of danazol-loaded intrauterine device. Results After utilization of danazol-loaded intrauterine device for 2 months, the results of different groups were compared and analyzed.Uterine wet weight/body weight ratio and the number of extrauterine nodules and the grading score of HE staining of treated group were less than that of untreated group. The results of danazol-loaded intrauterine device group were the same as that of danazol orally-taking group. Conclusions The danazol-loaded intrauterine device can treat experimentally induced uterine adenomyosis in the ICR mice effectively.Further clinical trial can be performed.
