Creation of Positive Energy Dirac Particles by a Gravitational Field

Abstract

Second quantization is applied to the new Dirac field. The issue of negative energy states is considered and it is shown that if negative energy states are discarded, then positive energy states for this particle cannot be created by a gravitational field, and the particle number is conserved. The plausibility and implications of negative energy states are also discussed.
