Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of uterine artery embolization(UAE)and Danazuo in the treatment of symptomatic adenomyosis.Methods:84 cases with adenomyosis in our hospital from May 2006 to March 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. All of the patients were divided to two groups according to different treatment.Group A(44 cases)underwent UAE,Group B(40 cases)took Danazuo for three months.Changes of menorrhalgia, menstrual cycle and amount, uterine size and pregnant status of some cases were observed 3 months,6 months,1 year and 2 year after treatment. Results:Alleviation of menorrhalgia, decrease of menstrual amount and uterine size in Group A was obvious better than group B(P 0.01 or P0.05.)The pregnancy rate in Group A was higher than that in Group B(66.7%vs 33.3%). The liver function injury, amenorrhea and recurrence rate in group A(0,4.5%,6.8%)was lower than group B(27.5%,32.5%,67.5%).There was statistical difference(P0.05,P0.01).Conclusions:UAE is more effective than Danazuo in the treatment of Adenomyosis. It can reserve the uterus completely with less side effects, which is worth widely using in the treatment of adenomyosis.
