The value of transvaginal sonography in the diagnosis of adenomyosis

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the diagnostic and differential diagnostic value of transvaginal sonography for adenomyosis. Methods:51 cases of adenomyosis were reviewed based on the clinical and transvaginal sonography data,and the results were compared with pathology after operation. Results:51 cases were confirmed by pathology after operation,50 cases were adenomyosis,among them,1 case of adenomyosis with myoma of uterus was misdiagnosed as adenomyoma. And 1 case was myoma of uterus,but it was misdiagnosed as adenomyoma. The accurate rate was 96.1% in the diagnosis of adenomyosis. Conclusion:Transvaginal sonography is very accurate in the diagnosis of adenomyosis. It is also a simple and convenient method.
