The Mifepristone's Clinical Application in Adenomyosis of Uterus During the Peri-menopausal Perod

OBJECTIVE To investigate the mifepristone's clinical application in adenomyosis of uterus during the peri-menopausal period and seek for effective,less-complicational,acceptable ways to improve the quality of life.METHODS 64 cases were studied retrospectively of patients who suffered from adenomyosis of uterus during the peri-menopausal period and requested to retain uterus.We observed the menopause time hemachrome、menstrual blood volume、menorrhalgia level and the change of uterus volume.RESULTS 13 patients'menses ceased during taking the mifepristone,42 patients had an outstanding decrease in the menstrual blood volume,and 9 patients recovered to their prior-treatment states after ceasing taking mifepristone,all the symptoms of patients with menorrhalgia had reduced or vanished during the period of taking mifepristone;the blood volume of the uterus muscular layer and focus of the diseases was less than that before taking medicine.CONCLUSION Mifepristone can be good for inducing to cease menstruation,relieve the pains,reduce the menstrual blood volume when being applied for adenomyosis of uterus during the peri-menopausal period.It is remarkable in the therapeutic effects,excellent in security and therefore apt to being accepted by patients.
