Abstract

Objective To explore the safety and effectiveness of high intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU) in treatment of hysteromyoma and endometrioma. Methods Patients with hysteromyoma and endometrioma were enrolled in this study, the HIFUNIT-9000 type ultrasonic focus on tumor ablation machine was applied for the treatment. The clinical symptoms and ultrasonic echo, blood flow and size of the lesions were observed before and after treatment. Results Treatment of hysteromyoma and endometrioma was performed in 116 cases, including 192 tumors, there were 166 of hysteromyoma and 26 of endometrioma. After the treatment, different kinds of symptoms were reduced in 82 patients, ultrasonic echo was increased, blood flow was reduced.Treatment effective rate was 94.2%,significant efficiency was 53.8%.Conclusion HIFU is a non-invasive,safe and effective method in treatment of hysteromyoma and adenomyoma.
