Silne i przewlekłe dolegliwości bólowe podbrzusza, bolesne miesiączki, bolesne współżycieoraz niemożność posiadania potomstwa znacznie pogarszają fizyczny i psychiczny komfort życia. Brak skutecznychmetod laboratoryjnych w rozpoznawaniu endometriozy zmusza do inwazyjnej diagnostyki laparoskopowej.Rodzaj leczenia najczęściej uzależniony jest od występowania dolegliwości bólowych u pacjentki lub niepłodnościzwiązanej z endometriozą. Autorzy podejmują próbę usystematyzowania zasad rozpoznawania oraz leczeniaendometriozy na podstawie aktualnych zaleceń towarzystw ginekologicznych.
