Expressions and correlation of nuclear factor-κB and macrophage migration inhibitory factor in endometriosis

Immuno-histochemistry way was used to detect the NF-κB and MIF protein expression in 30 specimens of normal endometrium,35 of eutopic endometrium of endometriosis and 60 of ectopic endometrium.The expressions of NF-κB and MIF was predominantly found in the glandular epithelial cells of the 3 kinds of endometrium and partly was found in stroma cell or vascular endothelial cell in eutopic ednometrium.The expression was the highest in ectopic endometriotic tissues and was the lowest in the normal endometrium(P0.01);There were positive correlation between NF-κB and MIF in the three kinds of endometrium.The correlation coefficient was 0.875,0.882 and 0.927,respectively.NF-κB and MIF had higher expression in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of endometriosis patients,and there was lower expression in normal endometrium.There was a relationship between NF-κB and MIF in endometriosis which showed that NF-κB may play role in endometriosis by up-regulate the expression of MIF.
