Young woman with multiple lung nodules: a pulmonary oxymoron.

This case report describes a 31-year-old woman incidentally found to have multiple asymptomatic lung nodules, which were identified via surgical biopsy as benign metastasizing leiomyomatosis (PBML). The diagnosis was confirmed through immunohistochemistry showing positivity for smooth muscle markers and hormone receptors, alongside pelvic imaging that revealed a small uterine lesion suspected of being a fibroid or adenomyosis. Treatment with gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues and progestins led to the regression of the pulmonary nodules, demonstrating the hormone-dependent nature of the disease.
