Abstract
The architectural decoration of Kulangsu is complex and magnificent, including the characteristics and styles of classicism, eclecticism, traditional style of southern Fujian, and decorative style of Amoy. It is a treasure house of architectural decoration patterns. At the same time, the development of Kulangsu architecture is the same as the internationalization of modern architecture. Therefore, many modern style gatehouse decoration appeared in the buildings of Kulangsu. Based on the outline of the gate building, the way of arching and the significance of decorative patterns, this paper traces its origin and analyzes its geometry. The geometric relationship in the decoration of the gate house on Kulangsu Island is sorted out, and the gate house style and the gate house mountain flower style are specifically and systematically classified. It is hoped that the relationship between overseas Chinese, local residents and colonists in Southeast Asia can be explained by tracing the origin of architectural decoration.
