The cyclical nature of the manifestations, characteristic of endometriosis, is also seen in ovarian lesions, but both the painful symptom and menstrual function are significantly influenced by a pronounced adhesion process in the pelvis. This circumstance explains the comparative rarity of preoperative diagnosis of ovarian endometriosis - it varies about 7%.
