Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of epithelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS)and its role in ovarian endometriosis.Methods The expression of eNOS in 30 specimens of ovarian endometriosis and 30 normal endometrium tissues was detected by immunohistochemical staining.Results Weak or no eNOS expression was observed in the cytoplasma of glandular epithelia in normal endometrium.However,over-expressed eNOS was detected in ovarian endometriosis.The expression of eNOS was significantly higher in ovarian endometriosis than those in normal endometrium(P0.05).Conclusion The persistent over-expression of eNOS may play an important role in the occurrence and development of ovarian endometriosis
