Abstract

Objective:To investigate the role of HLA-G protein in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis. Methods:Immunohistochemistry and Western blot methods were used for detecting the expression of HLA-G protein in eutopic endometrium and ectopic endometrial tissues of 31 patients with adenomyosis (AM),normal endometrial tissues of 18 patients only with hysteromyoma were recruited as control group. Results:The expression of HLA-G was in glandular and stromal cells in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of patients with AM,whereas the expression of HLA-G in normal endometrium of patients with hysteromyoma(control group) was not detected; There was no obvious difference in the expression of HLA-G protein between eutopic and ectopic endometrium of the patients with AM(P0.05);There was no significant difference in the expression of HLA-G in eutopic endometrium of the patients with AM between proliferative phase and secretory phase(P0.05).Conclusion:The abnormal expression of HLA-G protein in eutopic and ectopic endometrium tissues may play a key role in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis.
