Abstract

Objective To investigate the role of hepatocyt growth factor(HGF) in the pathogenesis of endometriosis(EMs) and its clinical potential value.Method ELISA method was used to detect the expression of HGF in serum of Ems group, normal group and control group. Results The expression of HGF in EMs group was higher than that in control and normal group(P0.05),and HGF level in tage Ⅲ-Ⅳ EMs patients(88%) was higher than that in stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ(62%)(P0.05).The positive rate of HGF and CA125 in EMs group were 71% and 60%,respectively.With combined detection of HGF and CA125(if one of the two was positive, the result was positive),the positive rate was 84% in EMs group, meanwhile which would be up to 100% in stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ.By single detection of serum HGF on diagnosis of EMs,the sensitivity and specificity(71%,92%) were higher than single detection of serum CA125(60%,84%),but there were no significant difference(P0.05).With combined detection of HGF and CA125(if both of them were positive, the result was positive),the sensitivity dropped to 43%,whereas the specificity was up to 99%,and the positive predictive value climed up to 100%.Conclusion The expression of HGF might be involved in the pathogenesis of EMs,and detection of the level of serum HGF on the diagnosis of EMs had important clinical potential value.
