Clinical Analysis of 16 Postmenopausal Ovarian Endometrioma

Objective:To analysis the diagnosis and treatment of postmenopausal ovarian endometrioma. Methods: Reviewed 16 cases with postmenopausal ovarian endometrioma in 15 years. Results: During the same periods, the incidence of postmenopausal ovarian endometrioma was about 2.85%, with increasing gradually. The patients generally had no obvious related symptoms before operation. In 9 cases with normal-size or even atrophy ovary, which proved it as endometriosis by pathologic examination, there were 5 cases with opposite huge ovarian cyst pre- and peri-operation. The serum CA 125 levels were normal in six cases. All cases underwent surgical therapy. Conclusions: Postmenopausal ovarian endometrioma is a disease that cannot be neglected. Its incidence is increasing now, but no typical clinical manifestation. Radical operation is suitable.
