RECK gene expression is lower in eutopic and ectopic endometrium compared to normal endometrium, decreases with disease stage, and is associated with endometriosis occurrence and development.

Abstract

Objective:To explore the role and significance of RECK gene in endometriosis. Methods:The expression levels of RECK gene in 40 cases of ectopic endometrium,24 cases of eutopic endometrium and 20 specimens of normal endometrium were detected by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Results:The expression level of RECK gene in normal endometrium was higher than that in eutopic endometrium, and expression level of RECK gene in eutopic endometrium was higher than that in ectopic endometrium;the expression level of RECK gene in proliferative stage was lower than that in secretory stage, and decreasing with clinical staging (P0.05).Conclusion:RECK gene is related to occurrence and development of endometriosis.
