An Exploration on the Characteristics of pathogenesis, Etiology and Treatment of Endometriosis

The authors considered that the main pathogenesis of endometriosis is blood - stasis. According to the complicated factors, the syndrome may be differentiated as blood - stasis (BS) due to qi -stagnation, BS due to cold - stagnation, collaboration of phlegm and BS, BS due to qi - deficiency, BS due to yin - deficiency and BS due to yang - deficiency. The basic therapeutical principle should be activating blood circulation and removing blood - stasis and supplemented by acupuncture, moxibustion, exteranal dressing and retention -enema. The treatment should be individualized so as to improve the life quality of the patients.
