Abstract

Objective To evaluate the soakage of macrophage in eutopic and ectopic endometrium in adenomyosis(AM) and to explore the roles of macrophage in the pathogenesis of AM.Methods Total 32 cases of eutopic and ectopic endometrium in AM and 20 cases of normal endomemetrium were examined for macrophage soakage using immunohistochemical S-P method and computerized imaging analysis system. Results The soakage of macrophage in ectopic endometrium in AM were not only notably higher than that in normal endomemetrium(both P0.01) but also higher than that in eutopic endometrium(P0.05).Conclusion Macrophage are oversoaked in AM,which may play an important role in the pathogenesis of this disease.
