Abstract
Uterine incarceration is a rare complication of pregnancy in which a retroverted uterus becomes entrapped in the pelvis. This case report describes the clinical presentation and management of a woman with a suspected uterine incarceration in the late first trimester. This article reviews the diagnosis of uterine incarceration, including differential diagnoses, signs and symptoms, and the role of imaging. Management is based on the gestational age at the time of diagnosis. Management options are described along with a discussion of the available evidence.
