A total of 65 male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were divided into three groups: ischemia-reperfusion (IR) group (n = 25), IPOC group (n = 25), and a sham group (n = 5). Cardiac arrest was induced in both the IR and IPOC groups through tracheal occlusion. The IR group employed conventional continuous chest compressions, while the IPOC group utilized a four-phase compression protocol, with each phase lasting one minute. During each minute, compressions were performed for 40 seconds followed by a 20-second pause, with continuous compressions resuming after the completion of the four phases. Renal VEGFA expression levels and the extent of renal injury were evaluated using Western blotting, ELISA, PCR, HE staining, Masson staining, immunohistochemistry, and various biochemical assays.The findings revealed that the IPOC group exhibited less severe renal injury, reduced creatinine and urea levels, and elevated VEGFA expression compared to the IR group. Both experimental groups demonstrated a decline in VEGFA levels 24 hours post-restoration of autonomous circulation.In summary, within a hypoxic high-altitude environment, IPOC has been shown to significantly mitigate renal injury in rats following CPR. IPOC enhances the expression of VEGFA, thereby conferring a protective effect on renal function. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGFA) in rat kidneys during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) under hypoxic conditions typical of high-altitude environments. A total of 65 male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were divided into three groups: ischemia-reperfusion (IR) group (n\u0026thinsp;=\u0026thinsp;25), IPOC group (n\u0026thinsp;=\u0026thinsp;25), and a sham group (n\u0026thinsp;=\u0026thinsp;5). Cardiac arrest was induced in both the IR and IPOC groups through tracheal occlusion. The IR group employed conventional continuous chest compressions, while the IPOC group utilized a four-phase compression protocol, with each phase lasting one minute. During each minute, compressions were performed for 40 seconds followed by a 20-second pause, with continuous compressions resuming after the completion of the four phases. Renal VEGFA expression levels and the extent of renal injury were evaluated using Western blotting, ELISA, PCR, HE staining, Masson staining, immunohistochemistry, and various biochemical assays.The findings revealed that the IPOC group exhibited less severe renal injury, reduced creatinine and urea levels, and elevated VEGFA expression compared to the IR group. Both experimental groups demonstrated a decline in VEGFA levels 24 hours post-restoration of autonomous circulation.In summary, within a hypoxic high-altitude environment, IPOC has been shown to significantly mitigate renal injury in rats following CPR.
