This prospective study developed and tested the feasibility of a supported housing programme intended to improve independent living skills among homeless women with severe mental illness. At a high level, the authors focused on programme development and feasibility outcomes within this target population, rather than reporting efficacy against a comparator, and the paper’s main contribution is the description and initial assessment of the intervention. A major caveat is that the provided content does not include full methodological details or results beyond the feasibility framing, limiting conclusions about effectiveness. The paper does not explicitly discuss endometriosis or adenomyosis; it was included in the corpus via a keyword match in the upstream search index.

Abstract

Abstract Homelessness and mental illness are inextricably linked and this bidirectional phenomenon forms a vicious circle from which an escape seems complicated. One of the most pertinent needs of the HWSMI when they recover from mental illness is to return to their families. However, catering to this need has been challenging due to several reasons. HWSMI, when institutionalized get trapped in a system that reduces access to normative resources and solidifies social withdrawal. In this context, we aim to develop a supported housing program (SHP) for HWSMI & examine the effect of SHP on their Independent Living Skills.
