Expression and significance of c-Met and MMP-2 in the eutopic endometrium of endometriosis

Objective To explore the expression of c-Met and MMP-2 in the eutopic endometrium of endometriosis and the relationship between c-Met and MMP-2 in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.Methods Used the streptavidin-peroxidase(S-P) immunohistochemical method to detect the expression of c-Met and MMP-2 in the eutopic endometrium of forty-five women with pelvic endometriosis and thirty women without endometriosis.Results ①The expression of c-Met and MMP-2 were markedly higher in the eutopic endometrium of patients with pelvic endometriosis than that of controls(P0.01).②We also observed a positive correlation between the expression of c-Met and MMP-2(control r=0.937,endometriosis r=0.885).Conclusion Analogous to tumour metastasis and invasive mechanism,c-Met and MMP-2 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
