Correlativity of prognosis and endometrial ablation in patient with adenomyosis

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of the endometrial ablation(EA)in patient with adenomyosis.Methods We performed the endometrial ablation including uterine balloon therapy(UBT)and transcervical resection of endometrium(TCRE),and observed the expression changes of MMP-3,MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in ectopic and eutopic endometrium by immunohistochemistry. Results The effect of the treatment tot dysmenorrhea was affected by menstrual period and degree of dysmenorrhea before operation and the expression of MMP-3 in ectopic endometrium.The effect of the treatment for large blood flow of menstruation was affected by menstrual period and blood flow of menstruation before operation and haemoglobin before operation and the expression of MMP-9 in entopic endometrium.Conclusions MMPs can be used as the laboratory indicators to evaluate and forecast the effects of EA.
