IMIDAZOLE DERIVATIVES AND MEDICINAL COMPOSITION THEREOF

Imidazole derivatives represented by general formula (I), salts thereof, hydrates thereof or solvates thereof, wherein A represents lower alkylene which may be substituted by hydroxy, aryl, lower alkylidene or oxo (=O), X represents methylene or -NR-, R represents hydrogen, lower alkyl or aralkyl, and R represents hydrogen or lower alkyl. The compounds have a steroid 17-20 lyase inhibitory activity and are useful for treating and preventing prostatic cancer, prostatic hypertrophy, mammary cancer, mastopathy, uterus myoma, and endometriosis.
