Abstract
Objective To investigate whether angiopoietin-1(Ang-1) and angiopoietin-2(Ang-2) and their receptor Tie-2 in endometrium are associated with abnormal bleeding after medical abortion. Methods Ang-1,Ang-2 and Tie-2 were measured in 30 women without abnormal bleeding and 50 women with abnormal bleeding after medical abortion. Results The level of Ang-1 was higher in women with abnormal bleeding than those without abnormal bleeding and was shown significant difference. The levels of Ang-2 and Tie-2 were similar between women with and without abnormal bleeding. Conclusion The increase of angiopoietin-1 expression in endometrium may involve in the mechanism of abnormal bleeding after medical abortion.
