This master’s thesis presents a clinical case of a young woman presenting with deep dyspareunia, secondary dysmenorrhea, cyclical rectal bleeding, and infertility. Transvaginal ultrasound and pelvic magnetic resonance imaging identified an endometrioma, leading to symptom management via estroprogestative therapy and referral for infertility evaluation. The authors highlight that the variable clinical presentation of this condition often causes diagnostic delays in young patients, which can lead to disease progression and negatively impact quality of life. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically focusing on the diagnosis and clinical management of the disease in young adults to preserve fertility.
