Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and microvascular density(MVD) in ectopic endometrium from patients with adenomyosis. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to determine the expression of VEGF and MVD in ectopic endometrium from patients with adenomyosis and the endometrium of controls. Results The expression of VEGF and MVD in entopic endometrium with adenomyosis was significantly higher(P0.05)than that of normal endometrium. Conclusion The higher expression of VEGF AVD may be involved in the development of adenomyosis.
