Expression of receptor of sex hormone and matrix metalloproteinases in ectopic and eutopic endometrium of endometriosis

Objective To describe expression of sex hormone receptor(ER,PR) and MMP-1 in ectopic and eutopic endometrium of endometriosis.Methods The expression of ER,PR and MMP-1 in ectopic endometrium (84 cases) and eutopic endometrium(44 cases)in endometriosis as well as normal endome-trium(32 cases) were detected by PV-9000 of immunohistochemistry.Results The expression of ER and PR in ectopic endometrium were significantly lower than that in eutopic and normal endometrium(P0.01,P0.05),But the expression of MMP-1 in ectopic endometrium were higher than that in normal endometrium(P0.05).The expression of ER and PR in eutopic endometriums were significantly higher than that in normal endometrium(P0.05). Conclusion The abnormal expression of ER,PR and MMP-1 in ectopic and eutopic endometrium of endometriosis could be relevant to the development and progress of endometriosis.
