The Therapeutic Effects of Uterine Arterial Embolization in the Treatment of Adenomyosis

Abstract
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of uterine artetial embolization(UAE)in treatment of Adenomyosis.Methods Total 76 patients with adenomyosis wene enrolled and treated by UAE with Kelt Microsphere Gelatin.The degree of dysmenorrhea,amount of bleeding,uterine volume,the resistance index(RI)of bilateral uterine arteries,and the ovarian function were investigated on the 1,3,and 6 months after treatment.Results The degree of dysmenorrheal and amount of bieeding decreased on the 1,3,and 6months after treatment(P0.01,P0.05).The uterine volume decreased 17.21%,25.37%,39.86% on the 1,3,and 6 month after UAE.RI decreased significantly six months after UAE(P0.05).No difference was found in the leveis of FSH,LH,and E2before and after UAE.Conclusion UAE may have safely therapeutic effects on treatment of Adenomyosis,without adverse effect on the ovarian function.
