Clinical effects of Neiyixiao retention enema in treating endometriosis

Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of Neiyixiao retention enema in treating endometriosis(EM) and to explore the action mechanism.Methods A total of 48 EM patients were randomized into two groups with 24 in each group.The treatment group was treated with Neiyixiao retention enema while the control group was treated with Danazol.Both groups were medicated for 3 months in succession.The changes in TXB2 and 6-Keto-PGF1a levels were determined by ELISA.The total clinical efficacy rate two groups were compared 3 months after treatment and withdrawal.Pregnancy rate in patients with infertility was also compared 3 months after withdrawal.The software of SPSS16.0 was used for statistical analysis.Results ① The total efficacy rate was 87.5% in the treatment group and 91.6% in the control group,respectively,after 3 months' treatment.The total efficacy rate in the treatment group and the control group 3 months after withdrawal was 83.3% and 79.17%,respectively.There was no significant difference between the two groups.Pregnancy rate in the two groups 3 months after withdrawal was 33.33% and 18.18%,respectively.The two groups did not significantly differ,which might be due to the small sample size.② Serum TXB2 and 6-Keto-PGF1a levels were significantly decreased in both groups after treatment(P0.05),but the two groups did not differ significantly.Conclusion Neiyixiao retention enema could effectively improve the clinical symptoms and pregnancy rate of EM patients.The mechanism may be related to the decreasing serum TXB2 and 6-Keto-PGF1a levels in EM patients.
