Study of sargentgloryvine stem prescription on the levels of matrix metalloproteinases-9 and matrix metallo- proteinase inhibitor-1 in serum of patients with endometriosis

Objective To study the effect of sargentgloryvine stem prescription on the levels of matrix met-alloproteinases-9( MMP-9) and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase( TIMP-1) in serum of patients with endometriosis. Methods 73 patients with endometriosis were randomly divided into Gestrinone group( n = 36) and sargentgloryvine stem prescription group( n = 37). The changes of levels of MMP-9,TIMP-1 and MMP-9/TIMP-1 in serum of patients were compared before and after treatment. 40 healthy persons were as control group. Results The level of MMP-9 in serum of patients with endometriosis was higher than that of control group( P 0. 05). The level of TIMP-1 in serum of patients with endometriosis was lower than that of control group( P 0. 05). There was significant difference between treatment group and control group on MMP-9/TIMP-1 before and after treatment( P 0. 05). There was significant difference between Gestrinone group,sargentgloryvine stem prescription group and control group on the MMP-9 level after treatment( P 0. 05). There was significant difference between Gestrinone group and control group on the TIMP-1 level after treatment( P 0. 05). There was no difference between sargentglo-ryvine stem prescription group and control group on the TIMP-1 level after treatment( P 0. 05). There was signifi-cant difference between Gestrinone group and sargentgloryvine stem prescription group on MMP-9/TIMP-1 after treatment( P 0. 05). There was significant difference between before and after treatment on MMP-9 and MMP-9/TIMP in sargentgloryvine stem prescription group( P 0. 05). There was no significant difference be-tween before and after treatment on MMP-9,TIMP-1 and MMP-9/TIMP in Gestrinone group( P 0. 05). Con-clusion The genesis of endometriosis is related to serum MMP-9,TIMP-1 levels disorders. The mechanism of ac-tion for sargentgloryvine stem prescription is related to regulating the expression of serum MMP-9/TIMP-1 and in-hibiting invasiveness of endometriosis.
