Diagnosis of Endometriosis with the Combination of CA125 and Neutrophil-to- lymphocyte Ratio

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of CA125 and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR) for endometriosis(EM), and identify whether NLR can improve the diagnostic accuracy of CA125. Methods The medical records of 138 endometriosis patients and 87 non-endometriosis patients were retrospectively reviewed. The diagnostic value of CA125 and NLR for EM was assessed with receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis. Logistic regression analysis model was applied to construct a mathematic model(termed as CA125+NLR) which combined CA125 and NLR, and the diagnostic value of CA125+NLR was evaluated. Results CA125 and NLR of EM patients was significantly increased compared with that of non-EM patients(P0.01). The area under curve(AUC) for the CA125+NLR in EM diagnosis was 0.82, which was higher than that of CA125(0.80) and NLR(0.70)(P0.05 for all). Both CA12536 k U/L and NLR1.79 were independently associated with EM(P0.01). Conclusion Both CA125 and NLR were useful for EM diagnosis and their combination may contribute more to the diagnostic accuracy of EM.
