Abstract

Two-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is a fundamental statistical technique used to analyze the effects of two categorical independent variables on a continuous dependent variable. This comprehensive review examines the theoretical foundations, mathematical formulations, assumptions, and practical applications of two-way ANOVA. We present detailed explanations of main effects, interaction effects, and the mathematical framework underlying this statistical method. Through practical examples and case studies, we demonstrate the application of twoway ANOVA in various fields including psychology, agriculture, medicine, and engineering. This paper also addresses common misconceptions, diagnostic procedures, and post-hoc analyses associated with two-way ANOVA. The review concludes with a discussion of extensions and alternatives to the classical two-way ANOVA framework.
