As a result, conventional power sources are now producing more greenhouse gases. Renewable energy sources, especially photovoltaic (PV) systems, have gained popularity as a remedy because of their favorable effects on the environment and economic growth. However, most consumer applications need alternating current, while PV systems provide direct current. Inverters are used to close this gap. However, because power semiconductor devices have limited voltage and current ratings, traditional inverters are unable to handle high power. Multilevel Inverters (MLIs), offering benefits including lower harmonic distortion, better output waveform quality, and increased efficiency, have become a feasible option for high-power applications. For the purpose of minimize costs, simplify circuit complexity, and optimize performance, this paper focuses on designing and implementing a modified 11-level single-phase MLI topology that uses fewer power switches. The suggested design achieves optimal gate signal control by employing multicarrier pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques, particularly the phase disposition (PD) level shift PWM technique. The suggested inverter's enhanced performance is confirmed by MATLAB simulation testing. The system is appropriate for sophisticated AC driving applications because it exhibits lower total harmonic distortion (THD), which is in line with IEEE 519 specifications.
