Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of human leukocyte antigen-G(HLA-G) in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis. Methods The eutopic and ectopic endometrium from 36 patients with adenomyosis were collected as study subjects, and the endometrium from 35 patients with non-endometriosis disease were collected as controls. The expressions of HLA-G in endometrium were measured by immunohistochemical two-step method. Results The positive expression rates of HLA-G in eutopic and ectopic endometrium were significantly higher than that in controls(P 0.05),and there were no significant differences of the positive expression rate and the degree of positive expression between eutopic and ectopic endometrium. There was no significant correlation between the expression of HLA-G and menstrual cycle. Conclusion HLA-G was abnormally expressed in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis,HLA-G may be involved in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
