THE MAMMARY AND THE PAROTID GLANDS.

I deeply appreciate the honor you have conferred upon me by your invitation to take part in this symposium. I have been asked to say a few words in regard to the therapeutic value of the mammary and the parotid glands in certain morbid conditions of the female pelvic organs. Upon the receipt of the invitation, my first impulse was to decline, because, although my clinical experience has greatly increased since the publication of my last paper on this subject, I felt that I had nothing new to say at this time. Upon further reflection, however, I decided to embrace the opportunity in order to point out and emphasize how these agents should not be used. I have always tried to be very clear in my statements as to the precise indications which in my experience call for their use, and yet I find that physicians all over the country
