Abstract

Objective:To detect serum vascular endothelial growth factor-A(VEGF-A) level and explore its clinical significance in patients with endometriosis.Methods:Serum samples from 46 patients with endometriosis(endometriosis group) and 40 patients without endometriosis(control group),and the level of VEGF-A in serum was detected by ELISA,the levels of VEGF-A were compared between patients with different clinical symptoms and stagings.Results:The level of serum VEGF-A in endometriosis group was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05),the patients in endometriosis group with severe dysmenorrheal had high level of serum VEGF-A(P0.05).In endometriosis group,the level of serum VEGF-A of patients with late clinical staging(Ⅲ-IV) was significantly higher than that of patients with early clinical staging(Ⅰ-Ⅱ).Conclusion:VEGF-A participates in onset and development of endometriosis,targeted therapies of VEGF-A maybe a new method to treat endometriosis.
