Recent curative effect of adenmyosis by interventional technique through uterine artery

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effieienly of tran scathete r uterine artery embolization(TUAE) for the treatment of adenomyosis. Methods Sixt een cases recrived the treatmeat willingly. Bilateral uterine arterial embolizat ion with Lipiodol ping yang mycm emulsion and Gel foam panicles was carried out in all patients.3-6 months later, curative effect was observed after the opera tion. Results Complete disappearance of menstrual pain was obtained in 81.25% , and obvious improvemeat 18.75% .(Ultrasonic reexamination) 6 months after TUAE , the uterine volume was decreased by a mean of 45.98% and the volume of the l ocalized lesions was decreased by a mean of 58.83% . The hemoglobin concentrati on of the patients with hanemia was significantly increased or restoted to norma l after the surgery. Conclusion TUAE shows good short term effect in the treatme nt of adenomyosis.
