Clinical analysis of Adenomyosis by Uterine Arterial Embolization

Abstract
Object To discuss the clinical effect of uterine artery embolization in treating adenomyosis Methods Bilateral UAE was performed by Seldinger's technique in 36 patients with adenomysis.The menorrhalgia,catamenia,anemia,the size of uterus and lesion were observed after procedure.Result All cases were followed up after treatment,and dysmenorrheal was alleviated obsviously in 33 cases(91.67%),completely disappeared in 3 cases(8.33%),the effective rate was 100%;The menstrual blood volume decreased significantly in 17 cases after operation(17/21);In all patients with anemia,Hb was returned to normal value(100%);A mean 52.36% reduction of uterine volume were obtained,the lesions were reduced obviously or disappeared.Conclusion UAE is a safe,confirmed and satisfactory method for treatment of adenomyosis.
