Abstract

Abstract This study investigates the relationship between agile project management practices and mega construction project success in Chinese manufacturing enterprises, with a specific focus on how human-AI interaction moderates this relationship. Using a structured questionnaire approach with 287 project managers from manufacturing enterprises across China, we employed structural equation modeling and artificial neural network analysis to test our hypotheses. Results indicate that agile project management practices significantly enhance mega construction project success (β = 0.563, p < 0.001). Furthermore, human-AI interaction positively moderates this relationship, strengthening the effect of agile practices on project success metrics (β = 0.247, p < 0.01). The findings contribute to both project management theory and practice by providing empirical evidence for the effectiveness of agile methodologies in large-scale construction contexts and highlighting the strategic role of human-AI collaborative frameworks in enhancing project outcomes in manufacturing environments.
