Pharmacological and clinical studies on Gong-xue-ling for menorrhagia

Abstract
Gong-xue-ling,animal in origin,is composed of amino acids and microelements. Chroni toxicity,mutagenicity and teratogenicity were carrying on in experimental animals. All were proved to be negative.It was used in clinical trials on 415 patients of functional menorrhagia from 16 hospitals in 5 years. The results showed cure in 51.6%, improved in 20.7%, effective in 24.6%,and failure in 3.1%. Oral administration 2 tablets tid 4-5 days before and continued to end of menstruation as a course, altogather three courses are suggested. Neither hepatic nor renal impairments were seen.
