Abstract
The volume of medical waste has increased dramatically since COVID-19 and influenza A virus. In this study, the pyrolysis characteristics, kinetics, thermodynamic parameters, volatile gases and pathways of medical rubber gloves (MRG) under N2 atmosphere were investigated by TG, TG-FTIR and Py-GC/MS detection. Pyrolysis of MRG occurs mainly in the range of 280-500 °Cand 580-720 °C. The first stage was the main reaction stage with an average activation energy of 339.77 kJ/mol and a reaction mechanism model consistent with the order of reaction (Fn). The average activation energy of the second stage of pyrolysis is 236.93 kJ/mol and the reaction mechanism in this stage is consistent with the geometric contraction model (Rn). The volatile products of MRG pyrolysis consist mainly of olefins, alkanes and aromatic hydrocarbon compounds.
